For those who are struggling in recovery, nothing like another "TRIGGER" to work thru which produces uneasy feelings and thus the possibility of relapsing. For over a year, people have been talking about the "end of the world" as it relates to the "end of the Mayan Calender"; its end date is 12-21-2012, tomorrow. Well, don't go shoot up, light up, drink up over this "possible event" ! It is just some more "stinking thinking" which we are masters in engaging in and believing in. For those of us who have been around, remember when the world was going to END in 1988 which came and went. And then the world was going to END according to Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam in 1991 as a result of War of Armageddon. Of course, don't forget Nostradamus, everyone's favorite ancient mystic, he predicted the end of the world in July of 1999. Later, we had many computer experts tell us that things were going to END due to Y2K in the year 2000 when all of the computers would in essence shut down and bring life as we know it to a halt. Then in 2011, we were all put on notice that Comet Elenin would disrupt earth's atmosphere or possibly collide with the planet. Didn't happen! | So what about tomorrow? Don't fret . . . the "Big Guy", Jesus himself said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth NO MAN, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." (Mat 24:35-36) So "turn tomorrow over" to your Higher Power, you know that 3rd Step Stuff. Live in today, finish strong and have a great day. For those who need a little more convincing about past future predictions of the "end of the world" that did not happen, go to wikipedia - List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events! It will provide accurate information for you to challenge your uneasy feelings about tomorrow! Don't let your FEELINGS be your TRUTH. A great scripture to consider is Isa 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up wth wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
