Quit using Meth? Come on Houston, it blasts me into orbit!  Really? 

            The following are real life people who are/were using Meth on routine basis who decided to quit for a variety of reasons. Information is being provided for you to consider whether or not your Meth use is "really working for you" as well as and understanding that if it becomes an addiction in your life, these WILL BE the consequences of continued use in your life! The format for these posts are 1) short demographics of the person, 2) their drug of choice, 3) benefits of using Meth, and 4) the negative consequences that occurred which caused them to want to quit.
-    18 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: " Makes me happy."
            Reason to quit: "Being kicked out, strung out on drugs."

-    21 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: "Have less anxiety, makes me
            comfortable around people."
            Reason to quit: "Meth use got out of hand."

-    22 yr, white man; METH; benefits of use: "Think better; forget about
            problems."
            Reason to quit: "I didn't want to raise a child while I was using."

-    25 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: "Makes me feel good and forget
            about the other stuff."    
            Reason to quit: "Have become addicted to Meth and consequences are
            very bad."

-    26 yr, white man; METH; benefits of use: "Gives me energy for work or helps
            me complete things I need to get done; helps me concentrate."
            Reason to quit: "Needing to be a better person & father; tired of fighting
            with the guilt of my addiction."

-    29 yr, Hispanic woman; METH; benefits of use: "Makes my pain go away that I
            suffered in traumatic situations."
            Reason to quit: "I was arrested for a  DUI with my baby girl in the
            car."

-    31 yr, white man; METH; benefits of use: "Escape, conceal emotion, not face
            my fears, problems and life."
            Reason to quit: "Hospitalized for overdose on Meth." 

- 33 yr, white man; METH & COCAINE; benefits of use: "Made me powerful,
        Invisable."
        Reason to quit: "Out of control Meth & Cocaine use."

- 35 yr, white man; METH; benefits of use: "Makes me feel in control."
        Reason to quit: "Family left me & I am not being the Father that I should
        be."

- 37 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: "Allowed me to not feel any hurt
        or pain that I was causing."
        Reason to quit: "Not able to function as a business owner, wife, or
        mother. Spending or taking money which didn't have to support drug
        use."

- 44 yr, white man; METH; benefits of use: "Not much, helps me to relax."
        Reason to quit: "CPS telling my wife that she and the kids are in danger
        being around me."

- 45 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: "Keeps me functioning in life;
        getting out of bed, taking a shower, cleaning, and cooking."
        Reason to quit: "Custody trial over children, depression."

- 47 yr, white woman; METH; benefits of use: "More energy."
        Reason to quit: "Went to jail."
